Jake Minch performed at The Song and Dance on November 19th for his tour ‘More George On Tour,’ which featured songs from his debut album “George.” Best known for his single “Fingers and Clothes,” Minch is emotionally honest and vulnerable about old habits and affections.
Fans were lined up three hours before the doors, waiting in anticipation of Minch taking the stage. Paige Pfeiffer, an Entertainment Technology major at Fulton Montgomery Community College, traveled two hours to see the show. She found Jake through TikTok, and his concert was life-changing.
“This was my first time going to a concert solo, and I was far from home, so I didn’t know the area, but getting to experience this concert was truly an incredible experience and made me feel more independent.”
Opener Darryl Rahn, a Utica native, started off the night, earning praise from the audience for his folk sound. Once
Jake Minch began his set, the audience was in awe of his calmness and the captivating sound of his music.
The stage only amplified this by creating a close, intimate atmosphere, being dimly lit and decorated as if you’re sitting with Minch in a living room.
A crowd favorite song, whose title is a common profane reference to dysfunction, sparked excitement throughout the venue as soon as it was announced.
Jake Minch’s Syracuse show was the perfect mix of calm and exciting. Everyone in the room felt like they were part of something special.
