The Le Moyne Dolphins defeated Merrimack College rather easily Friday night, winning three sets to one. Le Moyne lost the first set 25-17, but responded strongly winning three straight sets to capture the win in the match. The Dolphins won the second set by two points and never looked back after that. This was made clear in the third set when Le Moyne absolutely dominated Merrimack, winning 25-12. In the fourth and final set, Le Moyne finished Merrimack off in strong fashion, winning 25-16.

The Dolphins, who have received quite the variety of contributions this season, saw their biggest contribution come from freshman Anna Hafoka. She led all Dolphins with 15 kills, which was also a career high for Hafoka. She also led the team with six blocks. Sophomore Danica Durdines also contributed six blocks and six kills. Freshman Mikayla Porr, whose name is now consistently talked about, led the way with 16 digs. Freshman Molly Gallagher also provided 14 digs and sophomore setter Kendall Corcoran contributed 42 assists.

This past week, Corcoran received the honor of NE-10 setter of the week. She was also honored by the Eastern College Athletic Conference as she was named the volleyball player of the week. Corcoran is also currently second in conference in assists average and is fifth in conference in assists.

With the win against Merrimack, Le Moyne improved their record to 16-7 and 7-4 in the NE-10. Merrimack dropped to 3-9 in conference on the 2015 campaign. Le Moyne currently sits in fourth place in the conference standings behind Adelphi, Franklin Pierce, and Bentley. The Dolphins have a good chance to improve their conference record to 10-4 by the end of the season.

Le Moyne’s final three games are at home on Ted Grant Court. They are against the bottom feeders of the conference. The final three games are against conference opponents Assumption College, St. Michaels College and Saint Anselm College, who all have losing records in conference and a combined overall record of 27-40. Keep an eye on Le Moyne Dolphins volleyball as they conclude their regular season with a three game home stand and look to compete in the post-season.
