The Le Moyne Volleyball team suffered a tough 3-1 home loss Saturday to Bentley. With four games left until the end of the regular season, the Dolphins look like they will secure a spot in the playoffs. These next four games will be crucial.
The team will travel next to Massachusetts to take on Merrimack College, who has a record of 3-7 in the Northeast-10 Conference. Following that match, they will play at home against Assumption, Saint Michael’s, and Saint Anselm. All three teams have won less than half of their games in conference play.
“My expectation is to win the next four matches,” said Coach Lizzie Cheeks.
The upcoming matches are all very winnable for the Dolphins, who are hoping to secure a home match in the playoffs. Le Moyne could finish in the top four teams in the conference depending on their play in the next few matches. A home match in the playoffs would benefit the Dolphins immensely. Until Saturday, they were undefeated on their home court. Le Moyne started the season 12-3, but they are now 15-7.
The next few games will determine their playoff rankings and will expose their confidence level going into post-season play.
“A home game would be awesome for your own morale and your own excitement to not have to go on the road, and also for comfort purposes it would be super helpful,” Coach Cheeks said.
