Women’s Volleyball Keeps it Rollin’

The Le Moyne Dolphins women’s volleyball team got their 2015 campaign off to a fantastic start. The Dolphins started off their 2015 season looking to establish themselves as a winning team around campus. Last weekend at the Georgian Court University Invitational the Dolphins upended Mercy College in three sets and then beating Georgian Court in four sets. The back to back wins allowed the Dolphins to gain momentum heading into day two of the Georgian Court Invitational. Le Moyne faced little resistance in day two as they defeated Roberts Wesleyan College in three straight sets and then took down Caldwell University, winning that match three sets to one. Le Moyne was able to start the season off 4-0 and cap off an undefeated weekend thanks to strong efforts from freshman Jessica Miller who recorded 31 kills over the weekend. Miller also added 7 aces over the weekend including six on Sunday which capped off a strong weekend for the freshman right side from Williamsville, NY. Other notable key performers for the Dolphins include junior outside hitter Natalie Casson, who currently leads the team in kills and sophomore middle hitter Danica Durdines, who is third on the team in kills behind Jessica Miller. Sophomore setter Kendall Corcoran registered one hundred one assists over what was a very effective weekend for her. Defensively, freshman libero Mikayla Porr totaled 86 digs at the Georgian Court University Invitational. Defensively, Jessica Miller and Danica Durdines have also given Le Moyne a boost leading the team in blocks, allowing Le Moyne to complete what was an undefeated weekend.
