The Le Moyne men’s soccer team lost a close game on the road at American International by a score of 3-2, but rebounded this past Saturday at Felician with a 1-0 victory.

American International started the scoring in the first half but the Dolphins were able to respond about 11 minutes later. Junior midfielder, Jaime Carolissen, scored from inside the box to even things up.

However, the Yellow Jackets regained the lead with under a minute to go in the first half off of a penalty kick, giving American International a 2-1 halftime lead.

Le Moyne found the equalizer in the second half as senior forward, Michael Spadine, received a pass in front of the net from senior forward Emmanuel Chanelo and sent the ball into the back of the net.

American International responded about 10 minutes later with what would end up being the game-winner in the 73rd minute. The Yellow Jackets stopped any would-be Le Moyne goals for the remainder of the match to secure the win.

Fortunately for the Dolphins, they were able to pick up a victory on the road at Felician, ending a two game skid.

Senior goalkeeper Matthew Silva recorded his 25th career shutout, tying the program record set back in 2009.

The match was scoreless until the 62nd minute when the Dolphins received a corner kick. Carolissen sent the pass in and junior back Trevor Creedon was able to head the ball in for the eventual game-winner.

Felician had a couple of opportunities to tie the game late in the second half but a save by Silva and a cleared ball by Creedon stopped the two best scoring opportunities the Golden Falcons could create.

Silva recorded two saves in the match and the Dolphins outshot Felician 10-9.

The victory improves the Dolphins’ record to 8-5, seven of those eight victories coming by way of shutouts. Le Moyne also has a record of 5-4 in Northeast-10 play.

Le Moyne won’t be back home until their final match of the season when they host Stonehill on Nov. 2 at 12:00 p.m.
