Women’s lacrosse beats Molloy 15-3

This past Sunday, the women’s lacrosse team beat 12th ranked Molloy to win 15-3. The team was led by senior attacker Brittany Brigandi, who scored five goals and provided an assist to help the team gain the lead throughout the game.

The team scored five goals within the first 10 minutes of the game, with four of those goals being scored successively in a minute and a half. The first goal was made by junior midfielder Gabrielle Kamide, then junior attacker Kelly Condon who scored a goal off of a pass from freshman Catie McKay. McKay then went on to make her third goal of the season.

Minutes later, Brigandi made the next successive goal for the ‘Phins, and then made another goal soon after to solidify the lead for Le Moyne at 5-0.

After a goal from Molloy, Brigandi rallied back for the ‘Phins, making her third goal for the game, with Kamide following her lead and scoring a goal four minutes later. Le Moyne remained in the lead going into the second half, with Molloy scoring one other goal before the half was finished.

In the second half, Brigandi again led the ‘Phins, scoring the first goal of the half with a pass from McKay. Not even two minutes later, sophomore attacker Kathleen Conese scored the next goal of the second half, and then again seconds later after an assist from Brigandi. A pass from junior attacker Brenna Bauer helped Brigandi to make the next goal for the ‘Phins.

Le Moyne then gained a 10-goal lead with Bauer making her first goal for the game. In the final minutes of the game, Le Moyne scored three times, with goals from Condon, Conese and freshman midfielder Julia Suriani. Molloy only scored once during this half.

Senior goalkeeper Kelly Fucillo helped solidify Le Moyne’s lead for the day, making five saves, and also being named the Le Moyne Northeast-10 Conference goalkeeper of the week.

Le Moyne’s next home game will be away this Saturday, March 24, where they face St. Michael’s at 1 p.m.
