The Le Moyne volleyball team beat Assumption at home on Saturday, three games to one to snap a three match losing streak.
Junior outside hitter Bethany Fabian led the way with a double-double as the Dolphins recorded their first conference win of the season.
Le Moyne jumped ahead early, taking the first two games over the Greyhounds 25-20 and 25-18, respectively.
The Dolphins battled back in the second game after falling behind early 6-0. Le Moyne won seven of the final eight points to go up two games to none.
Assumption kept the match alive by taking the third game 27-25, which included three straight points to win the game in the face of a 25-24 deficit.
Le Moyne put the match away by winning the fourth game 26-24 as the Dolphins recorded three straight kills to end the game and match.
Fabian ended the match with 10 kills and 15 digs to record her third double-double of the year. Junior outside hitter Allison Hebel led the offense with 14 kills, including the last three of the match, and junior middle hitter Morgan McDermott led the defense recording five blocks.
The victory improves the Dolphins record to 7-3, 1-1 in conference play, and leaves them undefeated in matches played at home. Le Moyne will be back in action on Thursday, Sept. 29, at American International at 3 p.m. Their next home match won’t be until Oct. 4 when they take on St. Rose in a match with Upstate Challenge implications.
