Welcome to the first #DolphinsLiveWell article of the 2018-2019 academic year!

The Wellness Center for Health and Counseling is excited to bring you our weekly column that we hope will educate you and lead you to a healthier lifestyle in mind, body, and spirit. We especially want you to participate in our weekly Healthy Monday tabling outside of the Dining Center from 11:00 am to 1:30 pm on Mondays.  Stop by and say hello to our Wellness interns, David Blitz ‘20 and Kianni Alexander ‘19.

For our freshmen and other new students, we welcome you and hope that your time at Le Moyne will be successful, happy, and healthy! For our returning students, we are glad to have you back and wish you continued success! Besides our Healthy Monday interns, the Counseling Center staff consists of three counselors and four graduate interns. The Health Services is staffed with a Physicians’ Assistant and two nurses, and both offices have wonderful Administrative Assistants who will set up your appointments and welcome you to our offices!

We know that there will be times throughout your college career where you may face some challenges and struggles. These can range from homesickness to a break up to anxiety, stress, hopelessness, and depression. Please know that we are here to help you with all of it; just call our office at 315-445-4195 and make an appointment… it’s that easy.  Your visits to the Counseling and Health Services can be confidential, and we are located off the main campus across the street from the baseball field in Seton Hall and are open 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. We offer individual counseling, some groups as well as activities to help you manage stress and anxiety including “Crafting with Kim” and our new “Zen Zone.” Our Wellness Center is an integrated model where counseling and health work together using the holistic approach of mind, body, and spirit and which aligns with the Ignatian principle of “Cura Personalis,” that is the “care of  the whole person.”

So stop down and check out what we have to offer, follow us on Facebook (Le Moyne College Wellness Center for Health and Counseling) and Twitter (@LeMoyne Wellness), visit with our interns at Healthy Monday, and come to our events.  The first event we are collaborating on is the Anne Palony ’65 Wellness Lecture Series this year featuring Dr. Kaushal B. Nanavati, M.D., a local integrative family physician who will offer a practical approach to becoming the best version of ourselves, individually and as a society.  This will take place on Tuesday, September 11 at 7 P.M. in Grewen Auditorium, so please join us! So here’s to great start to your semester from your friends in the Wellness Center!
