Not Newsworthy News: INDOOR CAT ESCAPES HOME

SYRACUSE, NY– Local indoor cat, Terry, was returned safely to his owner on Friday, Sept. 11 at 6:35 P.M. after escaping from his suburban home of 886 Salt Springs Rd.

Terry’s owner, Lilly Murphy, discovered Terry was gone when she came home from work at 5:42 P.M., Friday, to find Terry’s bowl of Gravy Lovers Poultry and Beef Fancy Feast untouched from that same morning.

“I knew something was wrong right away,” said Murphy. “Terry usually devours his gravy lovers feast faster than I can say ‘Save room for Jesus.’”

Terry has never left the house his whole life, not even getting the chance to peer out an open window or door, according to Murphy.

Murphy spent over three hours searching the house for Terry including his favorite spots: the bathtub [always filled with two inches of standing water], the top of the antique grandfather clock, and the towering pile of discarded socks Murphy keeps in the guest bedroom.

“I was crying hysterically, screaming bloody murder as a matter of fact,” said Murphy.

Neighbors and witnesses confirmed Murphy’s hysteria, as the neighborhood dogs and infants began to cry with her.

It wasn’t until one heroic man, Walter Bergman, found and returned Terry that the incessant howling stopped.

“I found Terry swimming in my pool so I offered him some KFC and he came right to me,” said Bergman. “Works every time.”

How Terry got out of the house is still under investigation.
