Paramore has a future and it’s “Now”

Paramore is back from their three-year hiatus! They have risen from the negative media attention concerning their two band members who left the band in 2010. If you are a diehard Paramore fan like me, you have been waiting for this album the band has been raving about for close to a year. The first single, “Now,” just came out this past Tuesday, Jan. 22 on iTunes.

“Now” seems almost like a flashback to Paramore’s “Riot” album released in 2007. The song wastes no time, opening with pounding drums and shredding guitar. Frontwoman Hayley Williams’s vocals continue time and time again to deliver serious punk rock attitude with lyrics like “Lost the battle/win the war/I’m bringing my sinking ship back to the shore.” The chorus to “Now” has a good ol’ rock band sound with lyrics you feel should be chanted while going into a revolution of some sort.

This single is the perfect way for Paramore to reclaim their rock throne. Williams sings “Feels like I’m waking from the dead/And everyone’s been waiting on me,” giving the whole song a main theme of new beginnings, a new future and the start of bigger and better things.

Near the end of this song, you hear some chilling “oohs” in the background with Williams reciting the words, “There’s a time and a place to die/but this ain’t it” almost as a prayer. “Now” is filled with intricate lyrics and soaring guitar riffs that make you understand Paramore and the inspiring message they’re trying to convey to their excited fans’ ears.

Paramore’s self-titled fourth album will be released April 9 with a total of 17 songs. It’ll be worth the wait, so make this band a part of your future… NOW!
