Boot & Buskin in search of new logo

Le Moyne’s theater group, Boot & Buskin (the faculty-directed group responsible for shows like “Rhinoceros,” “These Shining Lives,” “Around the World in 80 Days” and the upcoming “A Tempest”) is holding a campus-wide contest to find a new logo.

“We tried to come up with a logo last year, but it never really got off the ground,” Boot & Buskin executive director, senior Tyler Sperrazza said. “This year, we wanted to give an opportunity to anyone to come up with one. We wanted to get the rest of campus involved.”

The search for a new logo is just one of many new developments at the Performing Arts Center.

“We’ve been going through a lot of changes recently, including a new ticketing system,” Sperrazza said. “As we begin to market and advertise out in the community more, we wanted something that could be recognizable for the next few years. We want people to see the logo and say, ‘oh, that’s the theater group at Le Moyne. I want to see what they’re doing.’”

In addition to a $50 Visa gift card, two free tickets to all Boot & Buskin shows this year and recognition in this season’s Boot & Buskin programs, the winner will be invited to a meeting with the B&B staff to further develop their design and re-tool it for different things.

“We want something that looks good in black and white and color,” Sperrazza said. “Something that’s simple and catches your eye.”
