“It is a huge honor to win freshman of the year,” said Roberts. “It is a major accomplishment and it makes me feel proud.”Roberts credits her teammates and coaches for helping her accomplish this in her freshman year.
“I try to be the best all around player I can be for my team with assists, scoring, steals and whatever my team needs me to do,” said Roberts. “I always have high expectations for myself, but coming into my freshman season there were a lot of unknowns. I just came in with a mindset to work hard and had a lot of help and support from my teammates and coaches.”
This has undoubtedly been an incredible rookie season for Roberts. She has been an exceptional addition to the Le Moyne women’s basketball team. Her teammates and fans have much to look forward to in her years left with the program. She looks to continue her stellar play for the remainder of the season with the help of her team.
The Dolphins will play Southern Connecticut State University this Saturday, Feb. 18, at 12 p.m. on their home court before finishing the regular season against the University of New Haven at home on Tuesday, Feb. 21.
